Kim Boyd is a principal with Leavitt Partner’s digital health team based in the Washington, D.C. office and resides in Nashville, Tennessee. She brings more than two decades of health care policy, advocacy, and innovation expertise. Prior to joining Leavitt Partners, she served as president of Boyd Consulting Group and held executive positions at McKesson/CoverMyMeds and NCPDP, where she drove transformative change in health care technology adoption and standards development.
A recognized thought leader in health care interoperability and pharmacy practice transformation, Kim played a pivotal role in advancing electronic prior authorization (ePA) adoption nationwide, including spearheading federal regulatory efforts that led to the inclusion of ePA in the SUPPORT Act of 2018. Her work has been instrumental in developing and implementing HL7 FHIR-based solutions and NCPDP standards that improve patient access and streamline health care delivery.
Throughout her career, Kim has demonstrated exceptional ability in building strategic partnerships across diverse stakeholder groups, including state and federal agencies, health plans, provider associations, and standards organizations. Her expertise spans value-based care models, health IT strategy, pharmacy practice transformation, and legislative advocacy. She is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and has published numerous articles on health care technology and policy.
Kim serves on the NCPDP Board of Trustees and chairs its Strategic Planning Committee and Value-Based Arrangement Subcommittee. She is actively engaged in numerous health care organizations including HIMSS and the Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI). Her deep expertise in health care technology standards is complemented by her NCPDP SCRIPT certification. Kim’s foundation in policy analysis was developed during her service in the U.S. Air Force as a paralegal/court reporter.
