Addiction Recovery Medical Home – Alternative Payment Model

The United States is in the middle of a major public health challenge: since 1999, the rate of overdoses involving opioids nearly quadrupled. As startling as this number is,
before, and during this period alcohol-related deaths still out-paced opioids. Addiction has now become the leading cause of death in America for those under 50. Substance
use disorders (SUD) have devastating effects on our communities and drive enormous inefficiencies in health care. Despite the magnitude of addiction, there is a lack of
credible consumer and health system-focused information about an integrated continuum of care that could stem the growing prevalence of this public health challenge.
