Mescha Grammer-Ploss is a director based in Chicago and leads the Intelligence practice area. Mescha conducts quantitative and qualitative research evaluating various components of the American health care system for government agencies, policymakers, and industry participants. She also manages long-term research projects and works closely with client managers to design, implement, and deliver research projects to clients.
Prior to joining Leavitt Partners, Mescha practiced health care law for a decade. During this time, she served as a Regional Attorney Advisor for the U.S. Social Security Administration, an Assistant Illinois Attorney General, and as general counsel for a large social justice nonprofit organization for several years, respectively. Mescha has also worked as a health policy consultant with both the University of Chicago Medicine and United Healthcare. As part of this work, she managed “social determinates of health” partnership building and funding modeling to show viable, cost effective outcomes.
Mescha earned a master’s of arts and certificate in Health Administration and Policy from the University of Chicago, Harris School of Public Policy and her juris doctorate from the University of Iowa, College of Law. She has a bachelor’s from the University of Iowa in Political Science.
