Kim Slocum is a recovering pharmaceutical executive, with thirty years in pharma/biotechnology. Kim was Director of Strategic Planning and Business Development for AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals where he helped to lead the company’s effort to develop innovative tools to better understand and shape its external environment. He also worked in sales, sales training, marketing, new product development, managed care marketing, disease management, health care consulting, strategic planning and externalization efforts.
He is president of KDS Consulting, where is a business consultant and frequent speaker on issues related to the future of health care, the pharmaceutical industry, and health care information technology. Kim wrote “Consumer Directed Health Care, A 360 Degree View” (July 2008) – delving into the history of US health insurance, factors that contribute to cost relative to other nations, and the role consumers play in a transformed health care delivery system.
Kim has a Bachelor’s Degree from the State University of New York at Geneseo, and did his graduate studies in Business at Xavier University.
