Leavitt Partners Releases “The State of Health Care Today” White Paper
Salt Lake City, January 29, 2018 –Today, Leavitt Partners Health Intelligence Partners (HIP) released “The State of Health Care Today: How Physicians, Consumers, and Employers View Health Care Costs, Outcomes, and Reform Efforts,” a white paper that examines physician, consumer, and employer attitudes toward both the health care system generally and reform efforts designed to contain costs and improve quality.
Majority of Physicians Do Not Practice in the State They Graduated Medical School
By 2030, it is estimated that the United States will lack between 40,800 and 104,900 physicians. Moreover, there is a mal-distribution of physicians across and within states. To address these projected shortages, some states, depending on their current environment, could bolster their supply of physicians by increasing their existing medical school enrollment or building new medical schools.
