Thomas Merrill is senior analyst at Leavitt Partners and serves as the lead primary researcher on the firm’s team dedicated to understanding all trends and developments relative to the accountable care movement. His responsibilities include managing research relationships with ACO leadership from across the US and combining the qualitative insights from frontline leaders with market and state level analysis to better understand the evolution of health care in the US.

Mr. Merrill has co-authored and contributed to numerous pieces that have come to serve as the industry standard for understanding the magnitude and growth of the ACO model in both government and commercial sectors. He also presents frequently on the origins and concepts behind the accountable care model and its current and potential effect on the broader health care landscape.

His background is in US health policy with an emphasis on payment and delivery reform. He received a bachelor’s degree in political science from Utah Valley University.
