Christian Peña is an Analyst at Leavitt Partners, where he works as part of the Pharmacy team, focusing on benefits, technology and health reform ramifications. With a background in long-term care, Mr. Peña also focuses on post-acute care and behavioral health.

Prior to joining Leavitt Partners, Mr. Peña was a licensed Nursing Home Administrator for the Ensign Group in San Diego, California. In this capacity Mr. Pena shared the responsibility for the daily operations of a 152-bed hospital, managing approximately 200 employees and overseeing the hospital’s marketing and financial modeling for strategic growth plans. During his time with the Ensign Group, Mr. Peña conducted a marketing initiative which resulted in 400% growth of outpatient business.

Mr. Peña also served as a Researcher for the National Cancer Institute and as a Care Provider for RHA Health Services in Provo, Utah. Mr. Peña has had his hand in long-term care since the age of 15, when he began volunteering at a nursing home. He has now totaled more than 10 years of experience in the long-term care sector.

Mr. Peña received his bachelor’s degree (with honors) in English from Brigham Young University.
