Taylor Leavitt

t-leavittTaylor Leavitt is Managing Director, Equity Practice, at Leavitt Partners. Founded by former U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary and EPA Administrator Michael O. Leavitt, the partnership advises and invests in the practice areas of health, environment and trade. As Managing Director of the Equity Practice, Taylor directs investment decisions that align with the partnerships core beliefs about the future and the common good of mankind.

Prior to Leavitt Partners, Taylor worked for ZARS Pharma, a venture capital funded pharmaceutical company, engaged in corporate licensing and business development operations. While at ZARS, Leavitt identified, negotiated and executed strategic corporate transactions on a global basis, including merger and acquisitions, national and international product licenses, IP and technology licenses and R&D alliances. During this time at ZARS Pharma, Leavitt managed the commercial launch of ZARS’ first FDA approved product, which achieved steady growth with a lean, efficient infrastructure. Leavitt was also responsible for the ZARS Pharma New Products Committee, which recommends new and licensed products to the executive board.

Prior to ZARS Pharma, Leavitt was a founding employee for the Park City Center for Public Policy. As the Project Director, Leavitt developed the business model and funding plan for the Center for Genealogy and Genetics, which proposed, for medical research purposes, to link enhanced family medical histories to genetic databases housed at the Huntsman Cancer Institute.

In other work capacities, Leavitt has worked with Epic Venture Capital, SAIC, and Keystone Global Investment LLC. Leavitt is also involved within the community, currently serving as commissioner for the Utah Athletic Commission and as a trustee for the Michael O. and Jacalyn S. Leavitt Foundation. Previously he served as the Chairman of the Cache County Multicultural Center.

Leavitt received an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Business with an emphasis in private equity and entrepreneurship, and graduated magna cum laude from Utah State University with degrees in Finance, Economics and International Business. He is married to Tamara P. Leavitt, and has three daughters.
