Scott Hammer
Scott Hammer is a Strategic Analyst at Leavitt Partners. Founded by former U.S. Health & Human Services Secretary and EPA Administrator Michael O. Leavitt, the partnership advises clients in the practice areas of health, environment, and trade. As an Associate Director and Strategic Analyst, Hammer helps clients enter new markets, enhance the value of their products, navigate dynamic regulatory and reimbursement systems, analyze and assess potential opportunities, and improve health conditions around the world.
Prior to joining Leavitt Partners, Hammer served as a volunteer administrative intern and project leader for Shriners Hospital for Children in Salt Lake City, Utah. He provided research and analysis for specialized projects geared towards hospital efficiency, employee productivity, and financial savings. Specifically, he led projects directed at telemedicine cost and benefit as well as strategic research analysis on Ambulatory Surgical Centers.
Before his volunteer service at Shriners Hospital, Hammer worked as an Administrative Intern for Intermountain Health Care’s Southwest Region Executive Team at Dixie Regional Medical Center. Hammer assisted and developed numerous projects in strategic planning during his time in St. George, Utah. He helped develop Dixie Regional’s 5-year strategic plan, assisted expansion planning for Dixie’s Women’s and Children’s services, participated in facility development planning for its new Outpatient Pavilion, managed & guided lease & tenant contract agreements and finally, provided service-line research and assessment for various sections of hospital business development.
In 2008, Hammer earned a Master’s degree from the University of Southern California (USC) in Health Services Administration. He completed his Bachelors degree from the University of Utah in 2004. During his school pursuits, Hammer worked as an OR Orderly at LDS Hospital. Upon graduation, he then worked as a Membership Benefits Coordinator for the University of Utah Alumni Association and finally as a Guest & Membership Services Representative for the Salt Lake Swimming & Tennis Club.
Hammer currently lives in Salt Lake City, Utah and spends his time attending athletic events, playing sports (basketball, golf, tennis & biking) and enjoying the great outdoors.
