Our Team
Natalie Gochnour
Natalie Gochnour serves as Vice President of Policy and Communications at Leavitt Partners. Founded by former U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary and EPA Administrator Michael O. Leavitt, the partnership advises clients in the practice areas of health, environment and trade. As VP of Policy and Communications, Gochnour serves as a senior public policy analyst and corporate communications director.
Gochnour brings to the Leavitt Partners team a practical knowledge about the creation and implementation of health reform efforts at the state level. She was the co-chair of the United Way of Salt Lake’s Financial Stability Council, which was the forbearer to the Utah Health Insurance Exchange. As a representative of the business community she worked with the Utah governor’s office, Legislature, insurance carriers, brokers and hospitals to lay the foundation for Utah’s innovative approach to health system reform.
In addition to working with Leavitt Partners, Gochnour works with the Utah business community as an Executive Vice President at the Salt Lake Chamber, Utah’s largest and longest-serving business association. In this role, she advises business leaders on economic and policy issues important to Utah businesses.
In previous roles, Gochnour served as a Counselor to Secretary Mike Leavitt at the U.S. Department Health and Human Services and Associate Administrator of Public Affairs at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (both in Washington, D.C.). Gochnour also served as Governor Mike Leavitt’s Deputy for Policy and Communications (where she served as his spokesperson). Prior to her work with the governor’s senior staff, Gochnour served as the Deputy Director and Chief Economist for the Utah Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget.
Ms. Gochnour has both an undergraduate and graduate degree in economics from the University of Utah. When she is not working, you can find her walking her yellow lab, enjoying one of her two children’s soccer games, or skiing with her husband of 25 years.
